Neurodivergent Instructors and Staff Affinity Group

  • 6 January 2025
  • Zoom Meeting
  • Event Host: TEP
  • Event Type: Learning community
  • Teaching Pillar: Inclusive, Engaged, Research-Informed

This recurring affinity-group discussion is a space for neurodivergent instructors and staff (and those who hold identities within the umbrella of neurodivergence, like autism, ADHD, dyslexia, bipolar, etc.) to connect in ways that feel positive, and to share community, resources, strategies, questions, and scholarship around both neurodivergence and other things that matter to you.

  • Discussions are structured for a range of communication styles and needs. We share collaborative agendas and discussion questions ahead of time, and each of us participates at whatever level works for us on a given day, through writing, aloud, or both, with camera on or off.
  • Your hosts/facilitators are neurodivergent. We each have our own experiences and identities, and we're all interested in learning from the group.
  • Our focus is guided by participant interest. Topics are generated by the group, and members in the group present on things they're interested in. We tend to alternate between more social discussions and presentations on a topic of interest to the group followed by discussion.

Meetings are 10-11am over Zoom on the first Monday of each month.  Questions welcomed; please send them to Laurel at lbastian@uoregon.edu.
