Unit-level Training, Facilitation and Support
TEP works with units on issues that are of particular importance in their distinctive teaching context.
Unit-level Training, Facilitation and Support
Department Training
TEP can provide workshops tailored to address questions and issues specific to a department’s faculty and graduate student instructors. Our core skills workshops include:
- Aligned Course Design
- Teaching Toward Inclusion and Belonging
- Student Metacognition and Motivation
- Research-led Techniques to ‘Activate’ a Class
- What Should be Different about Teaching at a Research University?
We also offer workshops on Assessment, Grading and Feedback Strategies; Difficult Dialogues; Large-Class Teaching; Facilitating Discussion; and Getting to Know Students. If your department has a pedagogy-related need or interest that you don't see on this list, we would welcome speaking with you!
Facilitated Discussion
TEP staff occasionally facilitate unit-level discussion around shared learning goals, sharpening a discipline-specific sense of teaching quality, addressing trends in student participation, and other issues. Email tep@uoregon.edu to explore whether a facilitated discussion could be valuable for you and your colleagues.Support for Your Program Ideas
TEP can offer logistical support, central publicity and coordination, and expert guidance to bring forward a number of teaching-related programming ideas that are emerging directly from members of the UO community. Let’s work together to bring your ideas to life.
