Science Teaching Journal Club - Fall 2026 Wk 8

  • 19 November 2026 9:00am – 9:50am
  • LISB 217 or Zoom
  • Event Host: TEP
  • Event Type: Reading and discussion group

Join the journal club this fall as we focus on two areas made more urgent by the increasing capabilities of Gen AI and the temptation students face to use it in ways unsupportive of learning: (1) assessment in the age of AI and (2) facilitating effective group work.

This week's reading: Salvatore, S., White, C., & Podowitz-Thomas, S. (2024). “Not a cookie cutter situation”: how neurodivergent students experience group work in their STEM courses. International Journal of STEM Education, 11(1), 47. https://doi.org/10.1186/s40594-024-00508-0

We invite participants from all ranks and disciplines to join us for these collegial discussions at 9:00 am on Thursdays. Feel free to attend every week or just drop in for selected conversations.

Join in person in LISB 217 or Zoom: https://uoregon.zoom.us/j/369256082
