Course Navigation Menu
The Course Navigation Menu is a series of customizable links on the left side of your course that help you and your students access different course content. Note that actions from this menu only apply to the specific course you're in.
Depending on the structure of your course, you can choose to reorder and hide course navigation links. This menu is customizable from the Settings option. Learn more about Streamlining Your Course Navigation.
If an item on the menu has the visibility icon (eye with a line through it) [1] next to it, that menu item is currently not visible to students. You can hide or make visible any item on the menu in Settings > Navigation.
The active link is highlighted with different color text and a line indicator [2]. This highlight helps you quickly identify the feature area you are currently viewing in Canvas.
