TEP Self-Paced Learning Modules

TEP Self-Paced Learning Modules

These modules are designed to help you at timely moments when support is needed. All are designed to be worked on asynchronously at your own pace. Most are developed by TEP, but we also link to resources from our partners on campus that support the teaching development of instructors at UO. TEP-developed modules live in our self-paced teaching module community canvas site, so you will need a UO login to access them. If you are outside the University of Oregon and would like to view the modules, please reach out to us at TEP.

The modules are organized in alignment with UO's principles characterizing teaching excellence - teaching that is professional, inclusive, engaged, and research-informed.

Inclusive Teaching Modules

Digital Accessibility Training

The University of Oregon's Digital Accessibility Training was created by UO faculty and staff in the Instructional and Administrative Content Accessibility Advisory Collaborative. The training will help you understand how people with disabilities are impacted by digital accessibility and will explain the basics of what you need to make your digital content accessible to people with disabilities.

Engaged Teaching Modules

Writing Teaching Philosophy Statements

The Teaching Philosophy Statement (TPS) is a very common component of faculty job applications. At UO, TPS may also be part of award applications or courses on teaching. This module will discuss what a TPS is, what goes into one, and look at research on what makes a good TPS. The module includes reflection points for you to consider your teaching values, practices, and background to infuse these key components into your statement.

Note: This module is for designed for graduate students, post-docs, and others applying for teaching awards or faculty positions with teaching responsibilities. UO faculty needing to write candidate statements as part of the promotion and review process should instead see the Office of the Provosts's candidate statement templates.
