Zooming In and Out in the Face-to-Face Classroom
New Mixed Modalities Teaching Series: The Teaching Lab
Zoom became the primary platform for hosting class and engaging students during remote times. Although returning to in-person classrooms heralds a welcome end to "Zoom fatigue," might there be ways to utilize Zoom to increase accessibility and boost student engagement in face-to-face classrooms? We'll consider use of the Zoom Chat and File features, Zoom live transcription, and use of Zoom to connect with guest presenters or even other classes or groups of learners for live collaborations.
Join TEP, UO Online, and Information Services for a new, experimental Teaching Lab series — a hands-on opportunity to experiment with technology tools that may enhance student engagement in the face-to-face classroom. Together we'll explore the promise and challenge of particular technologies in the classroom as we practice with tools, platforms, and strategies together.
