How can we redesign assignments so they still invite learning, support diverse students, and make expectations around GenAI clear and workable? Whatever your stance on GenAI, this 30-min Zoom session highlights research-informed assignment design practices grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Transparent Assignment Design (TILT), and AI-aware assessment redesign.

We’ll share practical strategies for clarifying purpose, task, and criteria; widening access points and pathways for students; and building in “productive friction” that makes student thinking more visible. The session will end with optional processing time (about 15 min) for participants to apply the ideas to an assignment, ask questions, and brainstorm next steps.
