Political Expression in the Classroom (moderated by Provost Chris Long)
Join us 4-5:30 p.m. to consider the intersection of policy and pedagogy as we teach in a context of a U.S. presidential election and ongoing, wrenching global conflict. What laws and policies relate to classroom speech, and how to we create environments that make it possible for all our students to participate and learn in these turbulent times? What pedagogical practices are meaningful to participants, and how can we imagine employing them across courses and contexts? Guests include UO General Counsel Kevin Reed and Associate Vice Provost for Teaching Engagement and TEP Director Lee Rumbarger, and the conversation will be moderated by Provost Chris Long.
Faculty and graduate instructors are invited to share questions ahead of the event using this Qualtrics form. This event is being organized in response to expressed faculty interest.
