Making the Most of Unit Policy Updates Related to Teaching

Let us host you for a collegial lunch and discussion about the unit policy update process as an opportunity to incorporate your unit’s teaching aspirations and values into the fiber of faculty review.

We’ll look at specific examples—some from academic departments, some developed by TEP and the Inclusive Teaching Task Force—of how to modify the Provost’s policy templates based on units’ interpretation of and additions to university-wide professional, inclusive, engaged, and research informed teaching standards. We’ll also discuss how to have a values-based conversation about teaching in your unit that translates into your policy modifications.
