A rubric describes student performance at a range of proficiency levels for achieving a learning objective. A well-designed rubric gives students clear guidelines for good work, helps instructors give accurate feedback to students, and can reduce grading time. In this workshop we will pull apart rubrics to examine good design, collaborate using best practices for drafting pieces of a rubric, and discuss how to turn that rubric into a meaningful grade for your students.
