Course AI Policy Builder — Prototype

Course AI Policy Builder

Prototype for review: Developed by UO Online as an exploratory faculty-support resource., this prototype is being tested and refined. It has not yet been reviewed for inclusion in UO’s university-wide AI teaching guidance.

Developing a course GenAI policy involves more than deciding whether AI is allowed or not allowed. This interactive builder guides instructors through questions about permitted uses, AI-generated content, disclosure, citation, documentation, tools and materials, and connections to course learning goals. It then turns those selections into editable language for a syllabus and a more detailed Canvas policy and student guidance page. The builder is intended to provide a practical starting point and does not replace current UO guidance or your department or unit expectations. Instructors should review and adapt all generated language before using it in a course.
